Well, here goes...Jim and I thought this weekend on the 2nd year anniversary of our move to this beautiful portion of the Sunshine State would be a fitting date to begin our new blog. We envision this blog to become a platform for community resources, news and events for the surrounding areas of Central Florida including the cities of Mount Dora, Eustis, Tavares, Apopka and vicinity. Our blog and website can be utilized to assist you in finding your forever home, winter retreat or at the very least research Real Estate Investment opportunities in our area. We have grown to love this most alluring part of Florida and wish to share our passion for it with all of you.~Linda & Jim Reynolds

We would like to take a moment to salute all our healthcare and essential workers that have cared for us and kept us safe throughout this pandemic. You all have shown true grit, heroism and perseverance throughout these past several months. From the bottom of our hearts "THANK YOU!".
It has been extremely inspirational over these past several weeks to see the members of our communities support each other. We have watched everything from Drive-by Birthday Celebrations to our neighbors shopping for our frail elderly that cannot risk going to the grocery store on their own. Central Florida has appeared to turn the corner on this virus and is now going to begin opening up businesses. However, we must and will continue to remember as our days return to the normal hustle and bustle that our elderly continue to be at risk. It is our goal to continue to support those that are elderly or that have weak immune systems by maintain distancing and wearing masks until a vaccine is developed. I'm sure our world has changed but, for the better, as we are now more aware of how fragile life is and how we must treasure every moment and care for our neighbors by doing our part.....always.
Jim has been sending inspirational emails to our customers for some time now. We have decided to include some of those messages to our posts here every Monday. Sometimes a positive message no matter how simple can make your day a little brighter. Take care and be safe.
One of the wonderful perks of Florida Living: Flowers All Year! We love living here in Central Florida as we get to enjoy the perks of seasonal weather with some cool down in the winter but still get to enjoy abundant flowers all year long. This is a beautiful Angel's Trumpet Tree blooming in my side yard right now. Look at those blossoms! They are bigger than my hand!! Come visit and let us show you the fantastic benefits of Florida Living!
If you are looking for a quick day trip from Lake County and surrounding areas, take a drive up to the Barberville Yard Art Emporium. You could lose yourself for hours among all the interesting finds from unique yard furniture to lawn statues to indoor/outdoor wall art. In the photo below, Jim is looking at a unique outdoor grill made to look like a pistol! We had a wonderful afternoon enjoying ourselves during this beautiful Florida winter weather walking among all these special finds.
Is it possible we are heading for a real estate shift? Have you been waiting until this shift occurs so you can sell your home for that higher price you have been waiting for? My question to you, is what happens if you wait too long? What if you miss it, or jump in too late? Here are some of my thoughts on why you should not wait to sell. If you wait for proof that a shift is taking place before you act, you might wind up losing money. By the time the proof is there, the market has changed and everyone else may have beat you to the market, causing you to possibly sell for less than you could get right now. The real estate market is hot right now, homes that are priced and marketed correctly can sell within days or hours right now and prices continue to rise. This might convince you to wait to put your home on the market in hopes of more profit. Interest rates sitting at all time lows appear to be changing. They have just passed 4% for a fixed 30 year mortgage and all signs say they are going to continue to rise. Sure, there are a lot of buyers that were sitting on that fence that will now buy for fear of higher rates but that will only last so long if rates jump sharply. So if everyone catches on all at once, and they always do, especially when the media projects the rate hikes and the fall to come, hundreds of homeowners can wind up listing their homes all at once. Now that higher price you were waiting for is probably gone, in fact now you will probably need to sell for less than what you could have received before the shift took place. It is always my goal to help you sell your property for the most amount of money in the shortest time possible. See what homes have SOLD for in your area.
